She was loved and cherished by many people including: her daughters, JoAnn Holton (Richard), Mary Lou Faires (Jack), Susan Lapp and Kathleen O'Neill (William); and her grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, Jordan, Jennifer, Stephanie, Meredith, Kevin, Bryan and Jack. She was also cherished by 5 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers family requests that contribution in memory of Mercedes Higgins be made to Blessing House at http://www.blessinghouse.org or to Hospice of Western Reserve http://www.hospicewr.org.
