He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Sr. Compton and Lucile A. Compton. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Ann Compton (Hoffman); his children, Kendra S. Compton (Iris Jones), Shonda R. Compton, Daniel A. Compton (Yvette) and Todd M. Compton (Gianina); his sister Lenita J. Bunch (Compton); and his siblings-in-law, Bruce E. Bunch, Mark Hoffman (Lynn) and Colette L. (Hoffman) Wong (Tim). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 nieces and nephews, and 4 great nieces and nephews.
