James Richard Vande Velde Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 21, 2025, at the age of 89, James Richard Vande Velde of Westlake, Ohio, born in Lakewood, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Diane E.; his brothers, Harry and John Vande Velde; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Masterson and Mary Vande Velde.
He is survived by: his children, Karen O'Brien (Bob Halstead), Laura Owen (Jim), Jim Jr. (Monica Woodman), Ann Lorenz (Bill) and Susan Pschesang (Benjamin); his grandchildren, Meghan O'Brien, Erin Snow (Robert), Lauren Beaber (Sean), James O'Brien, Maggie Owen, Bridget, Mackenzie, Michael Lorenz, Will, Sarah and Graham Pschesang; his great grandchildren, Mia, Brady Beaber, Elias O'Brien and Zoe Snow; his sister Marianne Masterson; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Anne Bundus (David) and Larry Murtaugh (Joan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Christopher Church (20141 Detroit Rd, Rocky River, OH 44116).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Edward High School.
