He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Patricia Anne Patton, III and John Thomas Joseph Patton; his sisters, Julia and Patricia "Tish" Patton; his parents, Patricia Van Noy Patton and John "Jack" Patton Sr.; and also Katelyn Gibson-Patton.
