He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Nancy; his children, Abby Wisneski (Billy) and Christa Lain; his mother Elaine; and his brothers, Mike Lain and Larry Lain (Verna).

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Parkside Church of the Nazarene (23600 Hilliard Blvd, Westlake, OH 44145). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Don served with The Church of the Nazarene Foundation 2013-2019, then returned to pastoral ministry at Parkside Church of the Nazarene (Westlake, OH 2019-2025).
