He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Schmidt and Esther Schmidt; and his brother Gene Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Brenda; his children, Kurt Schmidt (Amanda), Scott Schmidt, Tracy West (Harvey) and Emily Johnston; and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Benjamin, Madeline, Macy, Olivia, Ireland and Joshua.
