With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rodney Allen Smith (Westerville, Ohio), born in Cumberland, Maryland, who passed away on December 10, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Smith and Pauline Wellington Smith. He is survived by: his wife Carole Smith; his children, Todd Smith, Matthew Smith (Rene) and Andrea Thompson (Pete); his grandchildren, Chloe, Emma, Claire, Sophia, McKenzie, Brandon, Corbin, Avery and Jake; his sister Jeanne Franse (Mike); and his nephews, Scott Franse (Heather) and Jaye Wallace.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Our fond memories go all the way back to Marshall University and fraternity days through all the years at Nationwide as well as the years as neighbors in Westerville. Rod had a great sense of humor and was well liked by everyone. We'll keep you and your family in our prayers. I see you have nine grandchildren. What a blessing and comfort that is.
