He is survived by: his wife Juanita Carter; his children, Tony Carter (Julie) and Teresa Carter (Brad Smith); and his grandchildren, Jessica Voll, Tytus Miller (Cori Price), Brittany Morris (Nathan Morton), Taylor Carter (CJ Sullivan) and Austin Carter (Kristin). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
