He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Lahmon Smith and Lindsey Emmett Smith, Sr.; and his siblings, James Wooten, Shirley Greer and Virginia Stauch.
He is survived by: his wife Sharyl Smith; and his children, Penny Smith, Shara (Jeff Martello), Sharry VanGundy (Greg) and Chuck Smith (Donna). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
