He is survived by: his wife Beverly; his son Matthew Curtis Phipps; his grandson Blake Engle; and his brother Harold R. Phipps (Pam).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio Health Hospice or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
