He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Allen and Letha Mae Detwiler (Wasnich); his wife Ruth H. Lorentz; his great grandchildren, Peyton and Miley Buehrer; and his siblings, Yevonna Funnell, Leslie "Bud" Detwiler, Keith Detwiler, Dwight "Todd" Detwiler and Roy "Edgar" Detwiler.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy King (Douglas) of Caledonia, Sandra Fleagle (Lanny) of West Unity, Michael Detwiler of West Unity, Vicky Preston (Craig) of Stryker, Michele Saylor (Robert) of Peru and Karen Kuney (Rick) of West Unity; and his sister Elaine Brown of Montpelier. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren.
