He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert W. Yates and Luluvene V. Yates (Whitman); his siblings, Chester Yates and Pat Johnson; and his nephew Kevin Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Colette Larson (Daniel) of White Lake and Daniel Yates of West Unity, Ohio; his grandchildren, Lauren Charder (Mike), Lindsey Germaine (Nathan) and Adam Larson (Ashley); and his great grandchildren, Ava, Ellie and Asher.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home (202 N Liberty St, West Unity, OH 43570). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at the Floral Grove Cemetery.
