He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence DeMint and Caryl DeMint; and his sisters, Cindy Lewis, Betty S. Young and Mary Ruth Kirker.

He is survived by: his wife Linda DeMint of West Union; his son Jerry Shawn (Tabby DeMint); his granddaughters, Bayleigh DeMint and Brooklynn Tolle of Winchester; and his siblings, Judy Shupert of Dayton and Richard DeMint of West Union.
