He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Messer and Ruby Bennington Vaughn (Eddie); his brother Garry L. Messer; and his half-brother Harry Messer. He is survived by: his children, April Kendall (Mark) of Winchester, Angel Stevenson of West Union and Garry E. Messer of West Union; his grandchildren, Bethany Palmer, Cody Palmer, Alyssa Kendall, Makinlee Stevenson and William Stevenson; his great grandchildren, Zane Hochschild, Taylor Moore and Dawsyn Palmer; and his sister Kay Poole. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
