He was predeceased by: his father James Burkholder; and his son Kyle Michael Burkholder. He is survived by: his mother Reda Burkholder (Swinehart) of Apple Creek; his former wife Rebecca Sigler; his wife Becky; his children, Travis James Wyatt (Bethany) of Ocean Springs, MS, Jana Kay Carozza (Steven) of West Salem and Jeffrey Harrison Burkholder (Neely Parsons) of Ashland; his siblings, Laura Geiser (Robert) of Apple Creek and Brian Burkholder (Linda) of Harrisonburg, VA; and his granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann, Madison Lauren, Paisley Lynn, Emilee Jo Wyatt, Amanda Rinae Jones, Sophie Marie, Sadie Kay, Sylvie Dolores Neptune and Carozza.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Wayne County Community Foundation, 517 N. Market Street, Wooster, OH 44691, for the Michael Burkholder "Coach Burk" Memorial fund, which will help both the Northwestern Local and Orrville City school districts honor Mike's memory with memorials and a scholarship.
