He was predeceased by: his sons, Joe Schackart III and Dustin Schackart; his siblings, Norma Russo, Richard Schackart, Bill Schackart and Bob Schackart; and his son-in-law Jeff Bentley.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Schackart, Scott Schackart (Susie), Jason Schackart, Brandon Schackart, Jane Heatherly, Cheryl Taylor (Phil), Lisa Bentley, Jennifer Schackart (Scott Bricker), Amy Schackart and Renea Bush (Scott); and his brother Mike Schackart. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Joseph's name.
