He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Lester and Edith Pearl Branham Wessel; his sisters, Marianne Lucas and Betty Lou Bowman; his nephew Brian Lucas; and his brother-in-law Gene Lucas.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Lee Wessel Jr. (Lori) and Jenni Williams (Jerry); his sister Sharon Kay Wessel; his grandchildren, Tyler Wessel, Courtney Wessel, Matthew Cuckler, Missy Williams and Jared Williams; and the mother of his children Martha Jean Wessel. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
