He was predeceased by: his parents, John Adkins and Effie Faye Rogers Adkins; his wife Shirley Williams Adkins; and his siblings, Eddie, Tom, Jim Adkins and Mary Stelzer.
He is survived by: his children, Kelly Adkins (Tammy) of West Portsmouth, Larry Adkins (Wendy) of Sciotoville and Sandra "Sis" Orozco (Dave Chinn); his siblings, Bob Adkins (Pat) of Pomeroy and Rena Ruckle of Columbus; and his grandchildren, Mandy, Amber, Rachel, Sarah, Samantha, Joe and Michael. He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren.
