He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Thacker and Finetta "Helen" Thacker (Roberts); and his siblings, Frank Thacker, Janet Payton and Jane Yates.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Thacker; his children, Paul "Ed" Shonkwiler (Joanne) of Lexington, KY, Candy Lett (Jon) of Ashland, KY, Ronald "Spanky" Thacker of West Portsmouth and Sherry Cole (Bobby) of West Portsmouth; his grandchildren, Kassidee, Kristin, Kaleb Shonkwiler of Lexington, KY, Alexis Fiorita (Andy), Eli Cole of West Portsmouth, Madison and Spencer Lett of Ashland, KY.; and his siblings, Harold Thacker, Tom Thacker, Linda Blom, Pam Lester and Phyllis Moore. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to SOMC Hospice.
