He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Vaughn and Mary Blevins Vaughn; his daughter Mary Vaughn; his sister Bonnie Kinder; and his half-sister Annabelle Edmisten.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Stanley Vaughn; his children, Charles, Donald Vaughn and Amy Vaughn; his sister Emma Jean Hodge (Robert); his grandchildren, Megan Miller (Robby), William Spaulding (Tessa), Karshara Spaulding, Elizabeth Vaughn (Chase), Bauman, Derek Shultz (Courtney) and Phillip Willis; his great grandchildren, Peyton, Ronan, Paislee, Raiden, Elenora, Gatlin, Remus and Conner; his friends, Larry Stephens and Ralph Hensley; and also, Donald, Misty Estep and Johnna Vaughn.
