He was predeceased by: his father Clarence Sowards; his former wife Susan Cordelia Sowards; and his son Bryan Joseph "BJ" Sowards. He is survived by: his fiancée Angie; his children, Matthew Conley, Dustin Sowards and Bethany Sowards; his siblings, Roy Sowards and Kellie Mauk; and his grandchildren, Eli, Waylen Conley, Braden Grooms, Shane Thomas Jr., Danelle Thomas, Cameron and Hunter Sowards. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
