He was predeceased by: his parents, Regis McCartan and Grace McCartan (Smith); and his siblings, Regina Davis, Cathy Whited and Ken McCartan.
He is survived by: his wife Linda McCartan (Carson); his children, Carrie Williams (Michael) of Troy, Maureen McCartan of Troy and Joseph McCartan (Melissa) of Dayton; and his siblings, Carol Hisle, Colleen Mackowiak (Ken), Terry McCartan (Bethann), Mary Casey and Michael McCartan (Darleen). He is also survived by five grandchildren.
