He was predeceased by: his parent Arhl Sr. Oates; and his brother John Oates. He is survived by: his former wife Janice Rockhold; his wife Betty Snider (Griffin); his daughters, Maria Amy (John) of Patterson, N. Y. and Eileen Cook (Robert) of West Mansfield; his stepsons, Dan Snider (Sherry) of Kenton, Doug Snider (Linda) of Zansefield and Chris Snider of West Mansfield; his grandchildren, Elizabeth James (Ramon), Marlyna Gilibert (Bastein), Tesley Johnson (Tyler) and Danielle Snider; and his great grandchildren, Martin James, Andrew Gilibert, William Gilibert, Tatum Snider and Leo Johnson.

Memorial donations in Juniors honor may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
