He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam D. Sullenberger and Doris Jean Sullenberger (Minnich); and his siblings, Theresa Kriete, Mary Sullenberger and Norman Sullenberger.
He is survived by: his wife Effie Esh; his daughter Nichole Cordell; his grandchildren, Nickolas Cordell, Joshua Cordell (Justine), Maegan Cordell, Zachary Cordell and Jayden Cordell; his great grandchild Ezra Thomas Cordell; and his brothers, Lawrence Sullenberger (Sheila), Michael Sullenberger (Maxine) and Paul Sullenberger (Elaine).
