He was predeceased by: his father Charles Franklin; his wife Martha Jane Hagans; and his siblings, Dorothy Picklesimer and James "Jim" F. Cushman. He is survived by: his daughter Kathy; his son-in-law Ray Etgen of West Liberty; his son Jay Cushman of Elyria; his grandchildren, Phillip Etgen (Michele), Kyle Etgen (Jess), Cindy Williams (Kevin), Megan Etgen (Matt Hunter), Mollie Etgen and Miranda Etgen; his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Whitney, Konnor, Harper, Zach and Dylan; and his sister Mary Headley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
