She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse M. Headings and Hazel M. Stutzman Headings; her brother Boyd V. Headings; her daughter Kathy R. Ward; and her son-in-law Neil E. Dawson.
She is survived by: her former husband Stewart R. Ward; her grandchildren, Stacey R. Beckner (Chris), Steven R. Ward (Erika), Deann Y. Ward of Yellow Springs and Mark D. Ward (Teresa) of DeGraff; her great grandchildren, Alison Adams (Chris), Elizabeth Wolf (Steven) and Rebekah Troyer (Lance); her husband Russell I. Prater; her stepsons, Stephen Prater (Nancy) of Dublin and Mark Prater (Susan Roush) of Wakefield; her stepgrandson Christopher; and her grandchildren, Beth Collins (Mark), Michelle Taylor (Kelly), Jill Worrell and Kellea Wilkinson (Sean). She is also survived by 26 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren.
Doris asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to Philadelphia Lutheran Church, 5506 Township Road 201, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
