He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Tallman and Sarah Tallman; and his brother Howard Tallman. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Tallman (Brown); his children, Kevin Tallman, Kelly Shaffner and Marsha Carney (John); his grandchild Zoë Shaffner; and his brother Charles Tallman (Cynthia).

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Walter and Lewis Funeral and Cremation Center (642 S Main St, Urbana, OH 43078). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at the Jenkins Chapel Cemetery.
