He was predeceased by: his parents, Larry Staton and Christine Staton (Smith); his sister Tammy Ward; and his stepdaughter Brandy Schein. He is survived by: his wife Shela Staton; his stepson Johnathon Schein (Marissa); his granddaughter Eleanor Schein; and his siblings, Phillip Staton (Jamie) and Penny Hughes. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home (1355 W Main St, West Jefferson, OH 43162). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
