He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Mathews (Bennett) and Carl Maess, Sr.; and his brothers, Carl Maess and Bobby Maess. He is survived by: his children, Franki Maess Boegeman, Gina Maess King, Frank Maess, Jr. and Carla Maess (Bob Schofstoll); his siblings, Bill Maess, Deb Ross and Evelyn Harriman; his grandchildren, Alexandra Michael, Mariah Brown, Lane Phelps, Mason Phelps, Jade Maess, Logan Schofstoll and Talia Schofstoll; his great grandchildren, Maci Metz, Renlee Brown, Henry Lawson and Ruby Mae Lawson; his sister Cecilia Hartbarger; his stepbrother Gene Mathews; his half-brother David Mathews; his niece Chrissy McGuire; and his nephew Brian Maess. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
