She was predeceased by: her father George Wheatley; and her sister Patricia Siegmann (Arthur). She is survived by: her mother Rita Wheatley; her husband Domingo Barrera; her sons, Brian (Mary) and Jason Barrera (David); her sister Linda Atkinson (Byron); and her granddaughters, Elizabeth and Victoria Barrera. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as many dear friends.

“I met Barbara in 1970 while I was serving as a young missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We discussed the Gospel and became friends. I came home in 1972 but did not stay in touch until in 2019 Barb sent me a letter. We started emailing each other, and was able to get re-acquainted. It was such a pleasure to get to know her better and hear about her family that she loved so much. Having her gone will be such a great loss for all who knew and loved her. Reed & Melody”
