He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hamer and Virginia Ruth Thompson (Long); his brother Hamer Kay Thompson; and his stepdaughter Darcia Nichole Baker. He is survived by: his wife Ethel I. Thompson (Schleiger); his children, Gene L. Thompson (Lindsi K. Wells) and Desma T. Evans (Kevin M. Hicks); his siblings, Lila Ruth Adamson, Nympha Jane Grill, Vera Faye Craig, Norma Irene Henderson (Robert) and Loyal L. Thompson (Patt); and his sister-in-law Sandy Thompson. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Barnes Funeral Home (220 E Main St, Eaton, OH 45320). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Royal Oak Memorial Gardens (7217 National Rd, Brookville, OH 45309). An entombment was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at the same location.
