He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Edda (Layne) and Frank David Thompson, Sr.; and his siblings, Janis Moxley, Alvan E. "Dopsey" Thompson, John Neal Thompson, Terry "Skeekie" Thompson, William "Bill" Thompson and Frank David Thompson, Jr. (Mickey).
He is survived by: his siblings, Mona Wilson of Wellsville, Kay Wolfe (Milton) of Wellsville, Joan Thompson of Sandusky, Michael Thompson of East Liverpool and David "Bug" Thompson (Brenda) of Wellsville; his sisters-in-law, Carol Thompson of Wellsville, Bev Thompson of Wellsville and Olivia Thompson of Painesville; and his uncle Chester "Leon" Layne.
Due the Covid-19 pandemic, a celebration of Mickey's life was held for his family at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
