With profound sadness, we say goodbye to George W. Cornwell Jr. of Wellsville, Ohio, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. George left this world on April 18, 2025 at the age of 92, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Cornwell Sr. and Isa "Pat" Owens Brown; his former wife Susan Cornwell; his brother William Cornwell; his son-in-law James May; and his stepfather Earl Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Duffy Cornwell; his daughters, Carrie Cornwell of Bonita Springs, FL, Debbie May of Hammondsville, OH and Karen Schmitt (Stephen) of Mount Vernon, OH; and his sister Rheta Archer of Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dawson Funeral Home (215 W 5th St, East Liverpool, OH 43920). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at the Riverview Cemetery (2026 St Clair Ave, East Liverpool, OH 43920).
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions in memory of George Cornwell Jr. can be made to the Wellsville First Christian Church, 831 Main St, Wellsville, OH 43968.
