He was predeceased by: his parents, John Harold and Vivian Gillem (Allen); and his brothers, Harold, Timothy, Marty and John Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Ray Gillem, Eutona Gillem, Beverly Young (Homer) and Tera Gillem; and his siblings, Doug, Roger, Randy, Wil, Cheryl, Rosie, Phyllis and Carolyn. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
