He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond M. Braun and Isabel Braun (Ringlein); his siblings, Donald (Harriet) and Caroline; and his niece Collette.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia R. Sterrett; his granddaughters, Beth and Amy; his children, Douglas Braun (Brian DeWitt), Beth Lambright (Jim), Christopher Braun (Robin) and Amy Aldrich; his grandchildren, Amanda (Brent), David (Ashley), Alicia (Matt), Jevon (Aundria), Cicely (Sam), Michael and Jonathan; and his great grandchildren, Max, Miles, Emmett, Mila and Harrison.

Memorial donations may be sent to Camden Township Fire Department in Kipton, Ohio.
