He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Hayes and Lucille Hayes (Puder); his sister Sandra Bidlake (Hayes); and his brother-in-law Gail Bidlake. He is survived by: his wife Pauline Hayes (Denger); his son Bradley (Nicole); his grandson Henry of Wellington; his stepdaughter Paula Marett of Cincinnati; and his sister JoAnn Hayes of Cleveland. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
