She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Markel and Bernice Markel (Fry); her former husbands, Earl Shepard and Harold Bonewit; and her siblings, Evelyn Biggs, Lona Mae Paugh, Anna Kimbler, Samuel Rolland Markel and George Markel.
She is survived by: her children, Richard (Linda), Jean Barrick (Charles) and Lou Anne Box (Robert); and her siblings-in-law, Pat Markel, Donna Markel and Roby Kimbler. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
