He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Runyon and Ersie Runyon; and his former wife Wilma Runyon. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Patty" (Duesenberry); his children, Benjamin John Runyon (Kelly) of Elyria, Nicole Lynn Thompson (Greg) of New London, Lora Ann Runyon (Brock Coulter) of Oberlin and Dylan Runyon (Shyloe Parrett) of North Fairfield; his stepchildren, Amie Shelton of Elyria and Kevin Shelton (Brittany) of Wellington; his grandchildren, Gregory Thompson, Te'a Runyon and Jené Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Layana Sanders and Amaiya Runyon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America or the Wounded Warrior Project.
