She was predeceased by: her husband James Beverly Buchanan; her stepson Clay Buchanan; her parents, John Gilbert and Angie Sewell; and her siblings, Benjamin Ralph Sewell, Albert Ray Sewell, William Sewell, Cecil "Pete" Sewell, Carl Sewell, Ernest Sewell, Ruby Belval, Nancy Spring, Daisy Baldwin, Carrie Taylor, Lucy Struve and Vivian Rose Sewell.
She is survived by: her children, Beverly Ruse (Robert) of Waynesville and Robert Buchanan (Gretchen) of Waynesville; her stepson Millard Buchanan (Marietta) of Wilmington; her grandsons, Philip Ruse (Michelle) of Atoka, TN, Craig Ruse (Julie Jones), Nathan Buchanan of Waynesville and Ian Buchanan of Waynesville; her great grandchildren, Amelia Ruse, Gabriel Ruse and Timothy Ruse; her sisters-in-law, Mary Campbell of Waynesville and Ruth Whitney of Kettering; her close friend Richie Moore; and also Homer Miller.
