He was predeceased by: his parent John Whitson; his wife Vonnie Whitson; his daughter Nicky Shackelford; and his siblings, Dorothy Irene Whitson and Larry Whitson.
He is survived by: his parent Hazel Whitson (Stogsdill); his children, Kendra Wells (Joshua), Sherry Ringo, Ken Whitson (Jenette) and David Shackelford (Karrie); his siblings, William Whitson, Johnny Whitson (Anita), George Whitson (Rhonda), Ruth Ann Hardwick and Jeannie Hamm (Lester); his grandchildren, Michael, William, Matthew, Christopher (Maykayla), Katie, Courtney, Zachary, Dustin (Amber), Beth, Isabella, Brayden and Lillian; and his great grandchildren, Athena, Amoura, Lucas, Kaleb and Keaton. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00am to 1:00pm In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dayton Area Diabetes Assoc. in Mr Whitson's memory.
