He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth; his daughter Anita Horwath; his parents, Roy Brown and Annie Brown; and his siblings, Elmer, William, Robert, Roger, John Brown, Ora Lee McComas and Shirley Maddy.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Brown and Karen Hurst (Bill); his grandchildren, Amber Williams (Heath), Danielle Holler (Dave), Courtney Walker, Caitlin Hurst (Doc Holiday), Kelly Christman (Rob) and Amanda Crawford (Ken); his great grandchildren, Emily, Ben, Aiden, Eva, Grant, Kainen, Alexa, Logan, Matthew, Olivia, Kameron, Kaleb, Wyatt, Sam and Charlie; his son-in-law John Horvath; and his sister-in-law Sue Brown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
