He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Luthman and Viola Luthman (Gariety); his grandchildren, Ariel and Ryan; his siblings, Irene Luthman, Ruth, Paul Richard, Eileen, Fred Drees, Kenneth Luthman, Mary Jane, Wilbur Sturwold, Robert Luthman and Alvin Luthman; and his fathers-in-law, Herb Fleckenstein and Lionel Barhorst.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Woydziak; his children, Jerry (Janet Luthman), Cindy (David Shadoan), Marvin (Dawn Luthman), David (Marge Luthman), Judy (Ron Drees), Janet (Don Pothast), Sue (Bob Drees), Ed (Brenda Luthman), Kevin (Kelly Luthman) and Randy (Danielle Luthman); and his siblings, Rita Fleckenstein, Carol, Ray Homan, Larry Luthman, Norma Barhorst and Nancy Luthman. He is also survived by 37 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren.
