He was predeceased by: his father Carl W. Cottrill; his wife Charlotte Mae Shoemaker; his son Jeffrey Cottrill; and his siblings, Alberta, Carol, Jack, Billy and Wayne.
He is survived by: his sons, Wade Cottrill (Donna) of Chillicothe and Richard Cottrill (Angela) of Waverly; his siblings, Lee Everett Cottrill (Carol) of Chillicothe, Linda Sizemore and Jackie Carle (Bud) of Chillicothe; and his caregiver Debra Allan. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
