He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Downey and Beda Peterson Downey. He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Gilson Downey; his children, Sasha Downey (James Kinney) of Columbus, Colin Downey (Kate) of Seattle, Gillian Downey of Portland and Jennifer Downey (Mark Deegan) of Alexandria, Virginia; and his grandchildren, Finnegan Downey, Shelby Deegan and Luke Deegan.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church at 11:00 a. m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 for immediate family only due to Covid.
