He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Borders and Mary Salyers Borders; his wife Rosemary "Rosie" Simons Borders; his daughter Mary Borders; and his siblings, Russell, Lonnie, Thomas Borders, Edna Borders and Marie Tilley.
He is survived by: his children, Harlan Donald Borders, Jr. (Wanda), Vickie Starr (James), Edward Borders (Virgie) and Ray Borders (Angie Breech); and his sisters, Daisy Blevens and Janie Sickles. He is also survived by 59 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
