He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bert Hamilton and Magnolia Hamilton (Tackett); and his sister Inez Truitt. He is survived by: his wife Rita Hamilton (Fyffe); and his siblings, David Hamilton (Emilia), Everett Hamilton (Mary), Culla Belle Newman (Melvin "Peanut") and Barbara McWhorter (Joseph). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
