He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gilliam and Ruth Gilliam (Hatfield); and his brother Michael Gilliam. He is survived by: his wife Geneva Ross Gilliam; his daughter Angie Merritt (Rex); his grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley and Alex Merritt (Hayley); his siblings, John Gilliam of Londonderry, Ohio, Glenn Gilliam (Cathy) of Londonderry, Ohio, Jim Gilliam (Becky) of Londonderry, Ohio, Ruth Wooten (Dorman) of Chillicothe, Ohio and Eileen Wise (Verlin) of Chillicothe, Ohio; his siblings-in-law, Paul Ross, Helen Detillion of Waverly and Lorene Pennington of Anaheim, California; and his nephews, Roger Detillion (Cathy) of Canal Winchester and Steve Ross (Kaley) of Waverly.
There will be no calling hours, because Delbert would not want anyone to suffer the way he did with Covid-19, so for the safety of his family and friends there will be a graveside service at 1:00 p. m. at Omega Cemetery on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
