She was predeceased by: her parents, Isadore Bates and Darkie Hall Bates; and her siblings, Everett, Alton, Richard Bates and Elsie Bates.
She is survived by: her siblings, Beulah Farmer of Waverly, Ruby Paige of Chillicothe, Bertha Skaggs (Harold), MacArthur Bates of Waverly, Shelby Bates of Chillicothe, Pauline Copeland of Waverly, Imogene Culver (Tom) of Columbus and Racine Liming (Gary) of Waverly; and her close friend Lou Fern Bowen of Waverly. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
