He was predeceased by: his parents, Kris Johansen and Ruth Johansen (Perry). He is survived by: his wife Dixie Murray; his daughters, Margo Hughes (Doug) and Jodie Jarquin (John); his grandchildren, Jason Sanford (Erin), Morgan Sanford, Paige Froelich (Adam) and Colin Hughes (Brittney); and his stepbrother Robert Lay.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Hope Christian Fellowship Church.
