He is survived by: his wife Margaret Helen; his stepchildren, Melissa Eskins and Doug Williams; his grandchildren, Steven Hoeft and Casey Nichols; his stepgrandchildren, Haley and Hayden Eskins; and his siblings, Ben Bates, Lyle Bates, Carol Wilson and Edith Seiler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
